Large tanks create landscapes of varied depth. Sand, rock, current, vegetation and open water allow different species to occupy the bottom, water column and surface. This distribution shows that an ecosystem is not one scene but a vertical structure in which organisms use different resources.

Underwater tunnels transform the viewpoint. Fish, rays and sharks pass overhead and beside the route, making the full body visible during swimming. Curved glazing reduces the normal separation between observer and tank and turns the water into an enveloping space.

Sharks display anatomies adapted to different strategies. Fins, tail, snout form and mouth position reveal differences among bottom-dwelling, reef and open-water species. Continuous swimming shows how propulsion, stability and direction depend on several body parts working together.
