Yerevan Water World occupies a large recreation site on Myasnikyan Avenue and organises pools, slides, channels and rest areas within a seasonal aquatic landscape. The complex turns an urban surface into a sequence of platforms, ramps, water basins and technical structures where gravity, speed and flowing water form the principal experience.
Slides are the most visible elements. Enclosed tubes, open runs, curves and descents of different gradients rise above the pools and create recognisable silhouettes from several parts of the site. The structure reveals the route before the movement begins.
Starting towers concentrate stairs, platforms and access systems. Their height determines the potential energy of the descent and organises the relationship among waiting, release and arrival. Metal, composite surfaces and non-slip materials form architecture designed specifically for aquatic use.
Channels guide movement through curves, slopes and changes of section. Water reduces friction and turns the body into part of the system. Every route depends on the combination of flow, geometry and weight.
Landing pools absorb speed and mark the end of the descents. Depth, edges and technical areas are designed for repeated movement. Their surfaces continually change through waves, splashes and reflection.
Open pools introduce another scale. Broad water surfaces create areas of freer movement and reveal how light, wind and activity alter the colour and texture of the whole complex.
Shallower areas use a more contained geometry. Soft edges, water features and lower structures create distinct environments within the wider site.
Colour has an important visual function. Blue, yellow, red and other intense tones distinguish slides, platforms and water areas. The palette helps identify routes and reinforces the recreational character of the landscape.
Hydraulic infrastructure remains partly concealed but is essential. Pumps, filters, pipes and recirculation systems keep the water moving and allow each attraction to operate continuously.
Technical zones reveal that the park depends on a complex maintenance network. Motors, valves, cleaning equipment and water-quality controls sustain an experience that from the surface appears to depend only on play and speed.
Rest areas are distributed among pools and routes. Shade, paving, planting and furniture create pauses within an environment dominated by bright surfaces and constant activity.
Vegetation provides contrast. Trees, lawns and planted areas soften the presence of metal, composite material and concrete and add changes of shade, colour and temperature.
Summer light strongly transforms the site. Sun creates reflections across water and wet surfaces, intensifies the colour of the slides and casts hard shadows beneath the structures.

Paving organises circulation through non-slip surfaces, drained edges and changes of texture. Wet and dry zones differ in colour, temperature and reflection, while joints and channels direct water toward collection points.
Shade structures introduce another architectural scale. Lightweight roofs, umbrellas and pergolas form areas of reduced light over furniture and routes and contrast with the strong exposure of the elevated platforms.
The park also functions as a landscape of basins and levels. Every pool is maintained at a specific height and connected with pipes, overflow channels and technical rooms. The visible surface depends on concealed infrastructure regulating pressure, cleaning and circulation.
Pool edges reveal precise construction. Grilles, joints, overflow systems and ceramic pieces separate water, paving and technical zones. These strips control splashing, drainage and cleaning and turn the perimeter of every basin into an active part of the hydraulic system.
Changing rooms, lockers and service buildings form another operational layer. Their walls, doors, benches and circulation routes separate preparation, storage and movement from the open aquatic areas and connect the technical organisation of the site with the rhythm of daily use.
Seasonality is essential. Outdoor operation depends on suitable temperatures and weather compatible with aquatic use. When the site is inactive, the structures reveal more clearly their technical character and dependence on the season.
Yerevan Water World is defined by the union of water, engineering and movement. Pools, slides, channels, towers, colour and hydraulic infrastructure form an inseparable whole.
